NorepinephrineNorepinephrine is also the same chemical released during the fight-or-flight reaction. During this cycle, the body is flooded with norepinephrine and reactions to situations are fast and extremely focused (one barely thinks about anything else when their life is threatened). Becoming this engaged is OK for short periods of time, however, it is not very healthy to be that engaged all of the time. This leads to chronic stress. The parasympathetic nervous system would never get a chance to engage and we would not get a chance to rest. Burnout would surely follow.
